Hi all,
hope this is the right newsgroup.....

That '93 BMW that I acquired 6 months ago is fitted with a Sony
radio/cassette/CD connected to an autochanger fitted in the boot.

I've never actually used the cassette.
When using the radio, the sound balance and all the speakers work fine.
Increasingly, when using the CD player, the sound balance keeps shifting
right over to the passenger side of the car, even though the display on
the head unit is showing it centralised. If I use that to shift it
towards the drivers side the volume is lower and also gets distorted.

Any ideas?
Anything I can check or clean or try to reconnect or whatever?
Or is it just broke?

Advice gratefully received,
Cheers,
Marlon

Yep , there will be a set of cables running from the changer to head unit.
Two phono leads with red and white plugs for the audio and a black one for
the changer control.

The fault will either be with one of the phono leads or the input on the HU
and output on changer.
Only the cable is really something you can remedy yourself so check that
it's all seated correctly and there is no obvious damage
