Anyone replaced the standard Vauxhall CD30 radio/CD in a Mk5 (latest
model) Astra Estate? I know adapter cages are available quite cheaply
to permit fitting of a standard DIN head, and interfacing between the
(P-type?) connector and ISO.

If there is anything out there that will interface to the steering
controls and/or the dash display, so much the better. I know from
travelling abroad where RDS doesn't always carry the time that the
clock is a terrible timekeeper under its own steam - looses a couple
of minutes a day - so data to that also would be a real bonus!

Yes, I know I could fit a CD40 - but have you seen the price????

Hi

Depends what unit you are looking at putting into the Astra? If you
are going for a Sony unit with CD changer controls you can add the
DOPS006 from connects2 (dont think its available yet, is showing on
their website though) this will retain the steering controls and OE
display, not sure they have an incoming date for the interface
however.
