Fitting a JVC KD-S891R into a 1999 T reg Peugeot 306
(too old to reply)

I have a JVC KD-S891R head unit (bought a couple of years ago) which I
would like to fit into my 1999 T reg Peugeot 306 Meridian.

The current unit is a Clarion and the 306 handbook refers to it as
Audio 3035. It's the standard Clarion head unit for the 306 with a CD
multichanger output option (the 6 CD changer that was left in the car
is knackered).

I also have stereo controls on the steering column which would be nice
to keep using however they're not essential. I don't even know if the
JVC unit supports steering wheel controls.

Can anyone tell me which connectors I will need to fit the new head
unit into the car? I'm not sure if I need an ISO connector or not.

Thanks for your help.

Jimmy.

Your 306 should have the right connectors already providing the JVC still
has the original lead (Uncut)

My 1996 'P' reg 306 had an ISO connector.

You can normally find a steering wheel adapter from Autoleads. However,
unlike other makes, the Peugeots had about a thousand different systems, so
you might not find an exact match. Also, you need to check if the head unit
supports wired remotes. Usually the cheaper models in a manufacturer's range
don't support them.
